The Counts castle, a medieval citadel in the centre of the city. Unesco heritage like most of the historic buildings of ghents centre. While making this project, I believed there where more important issues which confronted a city, than another piece of historic decor. The needs of the city, varying from housing to leisure, culture, sports,... could all be incorporated in this new structure build on the location of the former citadel.
